Why does math have to be so difficult? How will knowing how to solve for arccos of an angle or knowing how to use the Pythagorean Theorem useful to people in life? I understand that there are jobs out there that require this type of math, but what about people leading their lives into another profession? What good is it for them to waste brain cells learning something that they might never use? I believe that the best type of school/teaching curriculum is to teach people what they’ll need in their profession. Sure, people never set their mind to a single thing, but when push comes to shove, they’re bound to make up their mind someday and they’ll know what classes to take.
